Ohms Law and Power

Remember the Formula:  use the triangles:

Series and Parallel Circuits

To calculate a series and parallel circuit you need to apply Ohm's Law and the Power Triangle:

Remember:

To find the total resistance of a Series circuit you add up the resistant values.

Rt = R1 + R2 +R3

To find the total resistance of a parallel circuit apply the equation:

(1/R1) + (1/R2) + (1/R3) = ?

Rt = 1/?

SI Units and Prefixes

SI Units and Prefixes

We have cover SI units and prefixes: The most common we will use are as follows:

P = power measured in Watts
R = resistance measured in Ohms
I = current measured in Amperes
V = voltages measured in Volts

The most common prefixes are;

pico 1x10^-12
nano 1x10^-9
micro = 1x10 ^-6
milli 1x10^-3
unit 1
kilo 1x10^3
mega 1x10^6
giga 1x10^9
tera 1x10^12
